ParaPhenomenal was founded by John Gielgud, a respected figure in paranormal research with over two decades of experience investigating unexplained phenomena.
During his MIT period John founded a monthly newspaper called Monthly Para which was about paraphenomenal encounters and UFO sightings. It was popular among students.
After earning his Ph.D. in Cognitive Science from MIT, John pivoted to applying rigorous scientific methodology to paranormal investigation, founding the Institute for Anomalous Research in 2008.
His groundbreaking work with EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) and electromagnetic field fluctuations in reportedly haunted locations has been featured in numerous academic journals and documentary series.
John’s unique approach combines cutting-edge technology with historical analysis, allowing him to document over 200 cases of unexplained phenomena across five continents. As a visiting lecturer at Cambridge University’s parapsychology department and author of the bestselling book “Beyond the Veil: Science at the Edge of Understanding,” John brings credibility and scientific rigor to a field often dismissed by mainstream academia.
Through ParaPhenomenal, he aims to bridge the gap between skepticism and belief, creating a space where evidence leads and wonder follows.
